LG Dryer Repair in Scottsdale & the Phoenix East Valley
We repair LG dryers throughout Scottsdale, the East Valley and North Phoenix — electric and gas, front load and stacked.
The three ways a dryer fails
Almost every call we take falls into one of three buckets. The brand changes which part is likeliest, not the shape of the problem.
It runs but doesn’t heat
The usual suspects are the heating element, the thermostat, the thermistor, the control board, a clogged vent, or an electrical supply issue. In this climate the vent is worth checking first — restricted airflow is what kills the electrical parts that finally give out, so replacing a fuse without clearing the run just buys you a second service call.
It’s making noise
Rollers, pulley bearings, a cracked drum, a blower wheel that is stuck or failing, or the motor itself. Where the noise comes from and what it sounds like narrows it down fast — a rhythmic squeal is usually a bearing, a rumble is usually rollers, and a scraping sound often means something has worked its way into the blower.
It won’t start at all
Door switch, thermal fuse, control board, timer, belt, or idler pulley. This one surprises people, because a dryer that looks completely dead is often the cheapest repair on the list — a door switch is a small part.
What is particular to LG
The d80, d90 and d95 codes are not faults. That is the dryer telling you the vent is restricted — d80 means roughly 80% blocked, and the numbers climb from there. People replace parts chasing these codes when the actual fix is clearing the run. We check the vent as part of the job rather than treating the symptom.
Beyond that, the parts that fail most on LG are the heating element and the thermistor. The moisture sensor bars inside the drum are worth knowing about too — they build up a film from fabric softener and dryer sheets, and once they are coated the dryer reads the load as dry and shuts the cycle down early. Clothes come out damp and nothing looks broken.
